The countdown is on! We’re looking forward to welcoming our registered guests to the Umoja Community Gathering, an afternoon centered on connection, culture, conversation, and community.
Come ready to eat, laugh, connect, and celebrate as we take another step toward reuniting our diaspora.

We can’t wait to gather with you!

WHY UMOJA?

Umoja is a community-led movement that brings together African, African American, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Latino communities across Oregon. While our histories and cultures are diverse, our futures are interconnected. As Black communities represent approximately 3% of Oregon’s population, strengthening relationships across the diaspora increases our collective capacity to influence systems, expand opportunity, and build lasting prosperity.

Our Pillars

Umoja is grounded in 4 core pillars that guide how we build relationships, create opportunities, and strengthen our communities:
